QB Cam Newton, CAR Newton's health has been a cause of major concern for fantasy owners. He spent the offseason recovering from ankle surgery and then cracked a rib during the preseason. He was forced to sit out Week 1, which was believed to be more precautionary than anything else. He returned to action in Week 2 against a vicious Lions front seven. To add fuel to the fire, he taunted the Lions' most ferocious defender, Ndamukong Suh, referring to him as "Donkey Kong Suh." Newton came out and threw for 281 yards and a touchdown against a team that dropped from first in the league against the pass to ninth after this game. He looked healthy as he moved well and bounced up from hits. He may not quite be at 100 percent, however, he's getting very close. As he gains more confidence on his ankle, his rushing yards will begin to pile up. Last week, he rushed only four times for 19 yards. This week, he faces a faulty Pittsburgh defense that he should be able to exploit both in the air and ...
